HOSTEL
Wondering where to stay to feel comfortable while at Moringa Community School of Trade (MCSOT)? Well, it’s no offense to wonder since from day one of MCSOT‘s establishment, management was thoughtful enough about students who wish to learn trade skills but live far away from the location of the school. This thought led to the building of both boys’ and girls’ hostels on the premises of the school. Over the years, these hostels have been the comfort zones for students as they do not have to walk for more than a minute when classroom activities end for the day.
The beds are built by the MCSOT carpentry department and they are very solid. The mattresses are orthopedic and so they massage the students whenever they lie on them and they are refreshed when night breaks to begin a new academic work for the day. The hostels are big and the beds are set 10 meters away from each other to ensure proper ventilation. They house almost all students except those who are indigenes of the location of the school, Breman Baako. Ceiling fans are fixed in both hostels so students can deal with hot or warm weather. Each student is given two sets of bed sheets and two sets of pillow cases for free. This is to tell the world that the inability of getting a mattress, bed sheet, pillow cases before you can be in school is no longer a yardstick as all these are provided free for the students when they report to school. There is no water outage as the school has a reservoir to supplement the pipe from the Ghana Water Company.
The pictures tell it all. It can be seen how the beds are arranged and how spacious they are, the pillows and their cases, as well as the mattresses and their sheets are seen. The fans, the windows and the lighting system are all perfect.
LIBRARY
MCSOT has an ultramodern library facility named after the founder, Jeffry Lohr. The Jeffry Lohr library has all collection of books from fiction to trade books, English, Mathematics, History and Science. The library is always accessible by students because they are encouraged to make use of the books available to build their knowledge in their field of study.
Fictions in the library are to help them learn more of constructive sentences and find meanings from dictionaries to words that appear to be new to them, thus learning new words and knowing how to use them. There are laptop computers and a printer which doubles as a copier and a scanner assigned specifically to the library. Students are advised to make copies of pages of books they read if they deem useful to their area of study. The library is so serene and it’s the perfect place for students to have private studies. MCSOT is the only trade school in the region that has a library facility stocked to this capacity.
