MCSOT COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES, FOOD AND ITEMS FROM MADAM LINDA
The Covid 19 has brought so much challenges to everyone, the measures we took in place and urging our student through remote learning – to provide students with holistic support. Our school did provide with vital information on hand washing and other measures to protect themselves and their families; facilitate mental health support; and help to prevent stigma and discrimination by encouraging students to be kind to each other and avoid stereotypes when talking about the virus.
Earlier on, in the introduction, we touched on students coming to school every forth night for their course works and also seized the opportunity to call them back to school when the final year students resumed academic work in preparation towards their final exams. Before the students were asked to come back to school, we fumigated the classrooms and dormitories to get rid of a potential virus infection. “Veronica buckets” were provided and stationed at vantage points in the school especially at the entrance and in front of all the classrooms and dormitories. An hour or two orientation was conducted for them to know what to do and what not to do with emphasis on
Regular hand washing and social distancing.
The classroom furniture were rearranged to suit the 2m social distancing protocol. Since every activity was a stand still, most parents couldn’t work and that make it difficult for most students to buy face masks. The fashion department then sewed some face masks for all the students but because the material was heavy, it became difficult for them to breathe and talk so they stopped wearing it
We provide enough veronica bucket, tissue paper towel, liquid soap, to wash their hands regular from every contact they made.
Hand sanitizers were provide to every students
We also provided our student with local sew face mask but due to the thickness of the material we used to sew the face mask the student find it difficult to breath
Madam Linda found that in the photos of my report and realize it is a problem for the student not wearing their face mask properly so she donated 450 pieces of face mask to the school and asked for any other challenges we are going through. Food was one of the challenges. You can see below how the local face mask was challenge for the students to wear properly.. Though disposable, they can be used several times and can rewash before disposing them. As we all know, it’s expensive to manage this and since most parents were not working or some were laid off from work, it was a call on us to help the students as best as we could so none could be infected. From the pictures, you can see that the students are adhering to the use of the mask and the social distancing protocols.
Madam Linda did not waste time of organizing those supplies we needed at that moment and ship the items to Ghana even do the cost price of shipping was quite higher than the normal shipping that she’s been sending us items always.
Medicine and first aid treatment are always not left out of every packages she send. I and my families has always benefited a lot from medicine she always sent to us.I have always been a big help to many people here shearing and providing people with first aid treatment, I have been receiving these medicine from Madam Linda.
